Autoinflammatory diseases (AIDs) are rare clinical conditions, of which familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most common. Unfortunately, medical curricula and many rheumatological centres do not cover these syndromes adequately, resulting in lack of knowledge in identifying the optimal management of these patients. In general, FMF can be well controlled with appropriate use of medications and monitoring.
