Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases

Since 2000, the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases (ARD) has been the official scientific publication of EULAR. First published in 1939, the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases features original work each month on all aspects of rheumatology. The main focus is on original research articles, which can be submitted as concise or extended reports. The following categories of papers are published: editorials, viewpoint articles, recommendations, criteria, reviews, clinical/epidemiological and basic/translational research articles as well as letters. Case reports are rarely accepted for publication.Comments referring to previous publications in ARD should be submitted as eLetters; not all eLetters will be published.

Abstracts from major meetings (annual EULAR congress, European Workshop for
Rheumatological Research) are published as supplements to the journal.
Other supplements are considered for publication on their own merits and
must be peer-reviewed.

The Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases currently holds an impact
factor of 8.727 and retains the number one position in rheumatology also in 2012.
